The Basics of Poker Game Play:
In most versions of Poker each player is dealt a set amount of cards (anywhere from two to seven is typical) from a standard fifty-two-card deck and then uses those cards, and occasionally community cards, to make the best five-card hand possible.

In some versions of poker, after the first cards are dealt players are given an opportunity to discard some cards and get new ones from the dealer.

Winning a Poker game:
No matter what the particular variation of the Poker game, at the end the person holding the highest hand wins. If there is a tie the player with the highest cards in the highest hand wins.

For example, if player one has a two pair with two 5s and 2 Jacks and player two has a two pair with two 5s and two Queens then player two would be the winner.
