The World Poker Tour (known as WPT) is a series of worldwide Texas Hold’em poker tournaments. These tournaments feature the best poker players in the world.

The World Poker Tour is mostly held in the United States, with only one event playing in Barcelona, Europe. The main sponsors of this tour are the biggest world casinos and online poker rooms.

Aces Royal The first World Poker Tour was held in late 2002 and early 2003, culminating with the WPT Championship held at the Bellagio Casino, Las Vegas in April 2003. Today is running the seventh season of the World Tour, with four events remaining including the final WPT World Championship at Bellagio, Las Vegas from April 18, 2009 to April 25, 2009.

Travel Channel was TV host for the first five seasons of the tour beginning in the spring of 2003. The show also made its network premier on NBC on February 1, 2004. The sixth season was moved to GSN with debut on March 24, 2008. In July 2008, series has been moved to Fox Sports Net for its seventh season.

Tournaments have always been popular in the history of Texas Hold’em. The players with the winning poker hands in past tournaments were:
